What you will Receive:
Your 4” starter plant will be securely wrapped in a 4"(inch) growers pot with soil for safe shipping. You will receive 1 plant per order, unless you chose a quantity of two or more.
Alocasia “Black Velvet” is a gorgeous mini version of the Alocasia. It’s signature peculiar white veined leaves make this small houseplant a focal point in any room. The Alocasia originates from Malaysia and Borneo.
The Alocasia grows up to 12-18" high and its almost black arrow-head shaped leaves look like velvet, that are smooth to the touch. Alocasia can be kept as a house plant or terrarium plant.
Black Velvet Alocasia Care:
Light: Bright, indirect light. Does better in lower light than many other Aroids.
Water: Allow the top two inches of soil to dry before watering. Sensitive to overwatering and will have root rot when overwatered. Avoid excessive watering and changing the environment drastically to prevent shock.
Soil: Coarse, free-draining soil. A good mix is two parts each of perlite and orchid bark to one part potting soil.
Temperature: Black Velvet thrives in the 59ºF - 80ºF temperature range. Black Velvet Alocasia also do very well in temperatures above 80ºF - Anything below 55ºF will cause issues.
